About Us

Lydey Automation is a leading provider of high-tech industrial automation technology. Founded in 1976 by Donald and Valerie Lydey, we are now a second generation-owned automation provider for forward-thinking manufacturers in Ohio, Southern Michigan and Northern Kentucky. We focus on challenging the old ways of doing things, we work very hard to be a convenient and timely resource to our customers, and we’re always learning new concepts and technologies so that we can help lead the charge for innovation.

For Our Future Customers:

We work to cultivate an often unspoken agreement between us and our customers — if we can provide you with onsite technical and engineering support, if we can provide you with quick and accurate pricing and delivery information, and if we can help you meet your project deadlines and provide you with assistance after the sale, we hope for and expect you to call us first for the next project. We are looking to cultivate long term automation partnerships with our customers. We want to be your force multiplier to help you be a better automation specialist within your company.

For our Prospective Partners:

We believe the strength of our business comes from the partners we choose. That’s why we maintain a focused, non-overlapping linecard—selecting the right manufacturer in each automation discipline and developing deep expertise in their technology. Our goal is to represent those solutions with clarity, confidence, and real-world impact.
Our sales approach is proactive and hands-on. We make frequent, focused calls alongside our engineers and invest heavily in training so our team can bring practical expertise directly to your facility. We support our manufacturers with loyalty and expect the same in return, building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships

For Our Prospective New Team Members:

Lydey Automation, a family-owned company, is a rewarding and supportive place to work. Most of our employees retire from our company. Our turnover is low because we compensate generously, we support our team members, and we believe we treat each other fairly and professionally. But we have high demands for our people, as well. We’re lean and mean, and we ask of our people to be self-sufficient, resourceful, and pull their weight. If that’s you, you might be our type.
